How to help plants deal with stress factors?

Agricultural production is a very profitable business, which directly depends on the quality and quantity of yield. Each farmer wants to receive income from his business. Therefore, in order to minimize the risks of this business, it is worth taking care of your harvest in advance. So, about this I want to talk about.

Each plant, like any organism, needs certain components for normal growth and development. As well as nutrients, soil, sun, water and air. The main structural component of living cells are proteins with such building material as amino acids. Each protein consists of a unique sequence of amino acids. Plants synthesize amino acids from the following primary elements: carbon and oxygen, which are received from the air; hydrogen and nitrogen taken from water in soil and carbohydrate hydrate obtained by photosynthesis. Then it is connected with nitrogen, which leads to the synthesis of L-amino acids.

L-amino acids are plant origin. They are the main elements in protein synthesis process. In the process of each function in the plant involved about 20 important amino acids. Studies have shown that amino acids can directly or indirectly affect the physiological activity of the plant.

To increase yield and overall quality of crops grown you need to meet the needs for essential amino acids. In particular, usage of amino acids for foliar nutrition is based on the general needs of plants and at critical growth stages. Plants absorb amino acids through stoma in proportion to the ambient temperature.

We can also enrich soil applying amino acids. They improve soil microflora, supporting the absorption of nutrients. When applying amino acids, you need to take into account the soil bulk mass and buffering.

It is worth knowing that when applying the fertilizer application rate specified by the manufacturer, you will get the desired result. Recommendations indicated on the labels are often intended for foliar nutrition, which have direct effect on the plant, not on the soil. It will be enough for plant, but soil has greater needs. As you know, liquid fertilizers based on amino acid are worthwhile for many farmers. It is better to work directly with plant using foliar nutrition rather than soil – you can see effect immediately.

The amino acid liquid is a combination of different types of amino acids. It should be noted that the fertilizer produced by Wonder LLC – Wonder Leaf Amino 43, combines 17 amino acids of plant origin. Amino acids are also the main form of nitrogen, remobilized from temporary reservoirs or by protein hydrolysis (it consists in hydrolysis of the polypeptide chain to form a set of amino acids) during transportation over long distances through the phloem. Amino acids play an important role in plant life, acting as signaling molecules which have the ability to respond immediately to  environmental conditions changes. Namely the basis of development, tissue regeneration and immunity. Amino acids also regulate the system of roots and shoots, as well as regulate flowering and protect the plant from stress.

It should be noted that in most plants nitrogen is transported mainly in the form of amino acids. That`s why improving the allocation of amino acids from the original leaves to the absorbing organs can increase the efficiency of nitrogen utilization (the proportion of nitrogen obtained by the plant, converted into the total biomass of the plant or the grain crop) and the yield of seeds. Amino acids act as a foundation for plants. Plants consume the most amino acids in the initial stages of growth and development, namely at the stage of leaf development (BBCH 10-19), which can be influenced by anthropogenic and environmental factors.

The mission of the plant is to form seeds and give new life. The first shoots appear after 5-14 days of sowing. Over time, plants begin to grow leaves and roots. This period is very stressful for the plant development: waterlogged soil; sharp temperature fluctuations; strong gusts of winds; herbicide application. In most plants, when forming a leaf apparatus, the huge burden is when the laying of reproductive organs is formed. That`s why agronomist should take care of the crop and prevent the damage of stress factors. If we talk about fall-seeded, when the temperature per day stabilizes at + 15 ° C, then we can use foliar application.

Usually, agronomist forms the first tank mixtures, with an accent on phosphorus to increase the root system (while the temperature is low,the absorption of phosphorus is minimum). Boron is necessary for the formation of side roots and for better absorption of nutrients from the soil. Nitrogen is needed to raise growth processes. The basis of all processes will be usage of amino acids, as a protection against environmental factors.

The next stage in the development of crops, which can be stressful for plants, comes at the phase of budding (BBCH 51-59) or the beginning of flowering (BBCH 61). The ambient temperature rises to the highest levels, which can adversely affect the fertility of pollen, reduce fertilization, and suppress most ovaries. Amino acids help to delay or accelerate the flowering process and improve it during the onset of adverse conditions. Proline is one of the component of amino acid liquid. It helps plants become more drought-resistant with water retention and regulation. It should be noted that the plant can independently synthesize proline, spending a lot of energy. That`s why it is better to apply additional quantity of proline.

Consequently, due to the qualitative and quantitative content of amino acids, the physiological processes in the plant are stimulated, and stress resistance is increased. Applying amino acids, farmers help plants to overcome the effects of stress faster, improve nutritional efficiency , which affects the harvest quanty and quality. We, at Wonder, took into account the market needs and developed three fertilizer formulas based on amino acids:

  1.  Crystalline form of Wonder Leaf Orange. Formula of this fertilizer is designed specifically for a monocotyledonous group of crops: wheat, barley, oats, rye, rice, corn, etc. Contains a specific formula of trace elements, which is needed for this group of plants and 18% free amino acids of plant origin.
  2.  Crystalline form of Wonder Leaf Green. The formula of this fertilizer is designed specifically for a dicotyledonous group of crops: sunflower, soybean, rape, potatoes, sugar beets, vegetable crops, etc. Contains a specific formula of trace elements, which is needed for this group of plants and 15% free amino acids of plant origin.
  3.  Liquid form of Wonder Leaf Amino 43. Fertilizer contains near 43% of free amino acids of plant origin, which certainly help to overcome the most critical factors of influence.

So, we at Wonder encourage you to take care of your crop ahead of time to preserve your crop and your nerves.
